Abyss Overturned, Destined Dues (beta ver.)

You were right after all. We are all fools in God’s eye.

Ever since the day we shut down Astragan, I haven’t dreamt of him,and I haven’t dreamt of you. No more unknown whispers in my mind, nor the painful winnowing even I tried to do after, all gone by the countdown’s end. What a cruel coincidence that brought me answers about who you really are.

The irony — you once taunted me that I wasn’t really human with a heart untouched by regret and remorse. How the tables have turned, ‘The Great Messenger’, I guess this is what I should call you now. People are forgetting Deadeye, forgetting the fear and the reverberating echoes of Dawn.

They are forgetting you. I don’t, couldn’t, another curse of a mutant.

I wonder if they know they once stood beside a god? Before the portal sealed shut, I can’t say if I hallucinated again. I heard your voice. For the last time, thanks for your honest cruelty, I’ll never forget that.

But I forgive you. So, please, forgive me.

Found a nice place in the Second World. Leaving in a week. It seems there is no longer a need to maintain this writing habit of mine.

Goodbye.
